I traveled over a thousand miles across Eastern Washington this spring to photograph the wheat fields. This location is in the Palouse looking out at Steptoe Butte. After waiting for about an hour, I finally got the clouds and shadows where I wanted them. The crazy thing is that it snowed here two days after this shot was taken!

Any feedback greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Excellent Palouse image, Johan. Terrific light, clouds, patterns, and layers. My initial reaction was that the spent wheat field was a little heavy or dominant in the scene, and I could see a crop of about half of it, but I do like the image as is as well.

The clouds and light play are pretty nice. There's quite a bit of shadow in the right side of the image, but the light on top of the hill is a nice contrast. The plowed under field isn't real attractive. Perhaps cropping some off like Scott suggested would help. Overall, it's a nice scene.
