Face Off

This is from the western ghats mountains, and they can be quite often seen in herds. The color of the Indian Bison makes it hard to make images. This was late in the evening and with fading light and god, this is the best I got. They had strayed into the tea gardens, and there were a dozen in this herd. IUCN Status - Vulnerable

7D, 70-200 f4L. Cropped a calf from about 20 % on the left.

Thanks NPN for your support

To me this is an engaging photo, showing the facial color and detail quite well. My only wish would be to have that 20% in front of this individual for a greater sense of space/breathing room, but I fully understand that another animal will oft time not work in the frame.

Interesting. This is a new species for me. I like the setting... the green foliage complements the bison's colors quite nicely. The animal does appear to have a very slight magenta caste on my monitor, but perhaps(?) that's natural.
