Sunrise Surprise

This scene sent chills down my spine when I knew the Sun and fog would be putting on this special show. I have only captured the sunrise like this several times in my life.

It took several months of driving to this spot just about every morning to try and get something special. Of course the only spot in the area to put the tripod for this shot is right on top of a stinking and steaming 15 foot tall pile of compost. haha

As far as processing goes, this is 30+ shots stitched and exposure blended by hand in photoshop.

Extra bonus points to anyone who can guess the location! No one has come even close yet.

Thanks for any feedback!

Love those sun rays, Id say somewhere around Washington but seeing how your not using your 6 D this may be a older picture

Stunning light show Johan! No clue where it is, but wherever it is, it is outrageously beautiful.

Johan, this is sublime! Great work on this capture and processing. I wasn't sure at first about positioning the sun in the top center of the comp, but in this case the result is very impactful. Congrats!

Thanks for the feedback guys!

This shot was taken in the Puget Sound area at a park.

I get a lot of guesses that it was taken in Africa.

Very nice image Johan. I really like the golden light and the rays coming down from the fog. The comp is very balanced.

The pano suits this scene very well. Great light and the clouds covering the sun made it all possible. Excellent vision and presentation. :toast:

Johan,

When the sun shines through fog or mist, the results can be amazing, and you captures this beautifully! I feel as though I were there! Beautiful photograph!
