Crashing

I apologize for my long absence. We travel a lot, and we have just returned from a month overseas. Still, I enjoying seeing the work of others here when I get a chance, but alas, I don't have time to comment while we are away.

After a typical coastal storm, this wave was heading for shore as it crashed. I was struck with the power and texture of this particular wave as the sun was disappearing.

A different perspective of a crashing wave. The lighting and texture are great. Well done. :toast:

Thank you Jeff and Allen. One can observe and anticipate, but with this kind of shot, there is always an element of luck. I waited, I anticipated, but I was also lucky that this particular wave came along. Thank heavens for years of sailing that allowed me to at least target certain potential waves breaking.

Where? I especially like the shape of the wave in the foreground.

Interesting that people seem to like the diagonal lines. I purposely did that and chased the wave along the pier to maintain my position. The fishermen there, I am sure, thought I was nuts!
