I had to wait for the sun to get high enough to light this old snag. The sky had been pretty clear all morning, then these waves of clouds rolled in like waves out on the Gulf. Once they started to dissipate they were gone in minutes.

Sigma 12-24 @ 12mm

In CS5, converted to black and white w/modified red filter (brought yellow slider down a little to preserve the texture in the wood.)

Your comp is compelling and the contrast enjoyable. I do wish there was a little more detail in the tree trunk and limbs but a wonderful scene overall.

Great idea with the b&w treatment with this one, Buck. The clouds almost give an appearance of foliage growth out of the tree top here. Very nice indeed. :cool:

Like this a dramatic image lot Buck, the trees 'fingers' have grabbed a hold of that great looking sky.
