This is the black-headed race from northern Australia. These tiny birds are usually gleaning insects in the canopy but this one was inspecting potential nest holes in a sandy bank behind some mangroves.

What a gorgeous bird! BG is perfect for this, lighting and the exp on b & w is real nice.I like the leaves on the perch, and the pose. Super image! Sharon
