Lux Aeterna

Lux Aeterna means eternal light, and this scene immediately reminded me of that phrase. There is a choral piece named "Lux Aeterna" by Morten Lauridsen that is the kind of music that takes you to this kind of place while listening to it.

This is the last of my Mt. Evans series, thanks for looking, and c&c always welcome.

Large Version Included,

Morris

I think you could probably have just spun wildly in circles with the camera on auto-burst mode and come back with keepers from this shoot, Morris. You could probably be posting these for a LONG time still! This isn't up there with my favorites of the series, but the layering works well enough and of course the light is just as good as it ever gets.

Thanks, Marc. I think you are exactly right about spinning and shooting and still getting keepers during all of this. I'm just old enough to know I will be really lucky to experience something like this again up there in my lifetime. And, yes, it just doesn't get much better than this for light. Like I said in an earlier post, at one point I had to just make myself stop from tripping the shutter so that I could actually experience this for some time instead of recording it.

Yet another beautiful shot from here Morris! I echo Marc's sentiments. Not my favorite of your series either, but I'm nitpicking when I say that. I'm sure this is one of those shoots that you'll remember for the rest of your life!

Thanks, Joe, and it will be. Don't we all wish we could get this kind of experience every time we go out? It was amazing as the clouds were streaming so quickly from right to left across the landscape changing the look almost every second. Sometimes completely obscuring the sun and most of the light, and other times giving just a glimpse, then clearing and revealing a panorama of the Rockies. Incredible.

I'm really sorry to see this series end. You got some incredible shots there. The whole experince must have been soul stirring for you because the images often left me breathless. This is not my favorite of the series but it still has the rich color and timeless allure of the others.

I agree that scenes like this are a lot of fun and exciting to shoot! I can tell you had a blast by the number of photos you managed to come home with! :toast:

Good work, Morris!

By the way, did you happen to get any panoramic compositions from this shoot? I would be interested to see how they came out.

Some very special light you got during this visit. I'm sure it doesn't compare to actually being there, which must have been a sight to behold. Another beautiful image here Morris.

WOW, really hard to pick the best of the group looking back on these, but this one might be the one for me. Regardless, a wonderful series from this Mt. top here, Morris. :toast:

You're killing me Morris! Sorry this is the last, but what a great run it has been. I see a multiple triptych in your print future....

Glorious, inspiring, beautiful.
