Some people bottle stress, anger, sadness, dreams I choose to bottle sunsets !! I have these bottle sitting on my family room window and I am always awed by the light they seem to catch !

Any spots on the glass is a result of bad house keeping not dirty sensor !! Easier to clean windows in lightroom !!

I don't know why but the colours are off when I post to the site. I use Adobe rgb and process in LR4 anyone know how to fix this !

Nice image. I like the colors and the concept works quite well.

Do you convert to sRGB prior to saving for the web? If not, give that a try.

In Photoshop my method: flatten layers, convert to sRGB, change to 8 bit, resize and sharpen and then save for the web.

First thing that popped into my head was that song from the early 70's by Jim Croce, 'Time in a Bottle'
I find the bottles/glass themselves cool, wondering if they're antique?
I'm with Harley there, great concept! :toast:

Not antique, found at the thrift store, the one is from chapter's last year collection but I did not want to pay $10 for it so paid .50 second hand ! Thanks for the feed back !

Lorna, Beautiful! Love the colors and if I had a view like this I'd be doing the same thing! And since this is something you can repeat (although the sky will always be different,) and I'm nitpicking here, but I'm wishing there was just a little more room on the right. Not so much that I want the bottles centered, I certainly don't. The thing I really like about the two bottles is how close they are together, but the edges don't merge. Not sure if that was intentional, but it certainly works here.

Ditto with the sRGB comment from Harley. I often here the comment, ".... when I post to this site..." This website has nothing to do with color, it's web browsers and color profiles that are the culprits. Converting and saving as sRGB, even though it's the smallest color space, is the BEST (and perhaps only way) to ensure your image looks the same across browsers.

Hope to see more like this one!

Thanks Lon for the advice, I would have liked more room as well but it was a moment shot and the window sill was in the way . Here in the prairies the light changes so fast I did not have time to move the bottles as it clouded over a second later as our newest round of thunderstorms blew in !

Yes the gap was on purpose as if there was one thing I have learned from the site is to watch your overlapping lines !!

I really like this one. It's a combination of abstract colors but the subjects are clearly recognizable. This is a great example of making a superb photo from everyday things.

I like this a lot. My deck faces west, so I could try something similar. I love these kinds of images: small details from everyday life.

Congrats on the WP!
