Here's a shot from our workshop to Nome, Alaska this summer. These birds and the Willow Ptarmigans were my favorites to photograph. I like the setting and background for this shot. Thanks to Ken Archer for co-leading the trip and scouting the week before we arrived.

Superb composition, Nate. I very much like the angle of the foreground and the color similarity between FG & BG with the contrasting bird between. Great detail in the whites.

Great shot of this unusually cooperative ptarmigan Nate. Very nice pose in beautiful habitat. A very pleasing composition too. It was a wonderful trip for sure!!!
