A classic shot and a beauty! Love the nature of the light in the scene and the way the branches form the canopy. What a lovely walk that would be!

This is one of those times where the maximum size for NPN is not adequate for panoramic images. I do wish there was a bit more foreground on this one. It would make the road a better lead-in. Also, I would suggest darkening the dark tones and even the mid tones a bit. The image ends up having a HDR sort of look because there really isn't any shadow tone -- it's all concentrated in the mid range. Often times, it's the richness of the shadows that add mystery to a scene, and revealing everything leaves little to the imagination.

Craig,
This is wonderful. Love the color and the classic composition works beautifully.
A couple things. I'm going to go ahead and move this to the Man & Nature gallery. You might just be overlooking the drop down selection box for the different galleries because I think the default selection is Landscape.
also, did you know you can upload a single 1200px version and the 720px version will be created automatically? We all like panoramics, but they of course don't show as well with smaller sizes, so a larger 1200px version would be great! Just a suggestion, you're not obligated to upload a bigger size.
Great stuff!

What a cool spot. Looks like a "wall hanger" to me. I think the composition/crop choice is just fine, though I agree with Ben that the mid tones seem a bit light (on my screen).

Thanks Max and Ben, I did have some artistic debate on the mid tones when processing, especially in the right and left area. I did some adjusting and it does pop more in print then on display, I noticed early on. But I will reassess again since it caught your collective eyes.

Landscape Gallery (formerly Earth, Sea and Sky) - Landscapes, seascapes and celestial images with no recognizable "hand of man."

Fine light and excellent depth in this.

Thank you Tony. I have to say that you were one of my first mentors for training/education early on, such as tutorials. They have been absolutely instrumental to me for years... Eternal gratitude!

Wow - lovely Craig. As per the other comments, what an idyllic and inviting looking place. Nicely composed. I can see where the processing of the shadows/mid-tones could go either way (as-is or slightly darker). I think the end decision would depend on what mood you're trying to achieve... Congrats on the WP!!!
