Just a fly

I was trying w/o success to photograph honey bees on our rose of Sharon bush, when this fly landed right beside my lens and remained long enough for me to get a couple of shots. Do wish I had more DoF, but the fly didn't give me time to change settings.

Canon EF-100mm 2.8 macro USM

Excellent close up of the fly, John. Pinpoint pof and super detail about the head, eye, and front. Well captured. :toast:

I personally don't mind the shallowness of the dof, John - it allows the eye to take in the detail of the head even better perhaps. Nice, simple composition.

I can't really call it beautiful but it is incredibly interesting. Don't you love the serendipitous? Nice job

I don't usually like to look at flies, but the excellent detail in the face makes this image interesting. Well done!
