I find Lotus flowers totally fascinating and beautiful. Your soft treatment works well IMO to highlight the beauty and delicateness of this flower. Very lovely.

I think this even lovelier than your previous post, Yun ! The swirls of the petals and the dappled light are gorgeous - and, once again, it is so good to see a fair stretch of leafage. The cram adds a mood I think - I like it !

Lovely...soft sumptuous colors and textures. The cram works... well... I am 95% on board with it... 'cept the slight overlap on the left side. The shadows are feathery soft...well done!

Yes, it adds softness to a delicate flower. I could even see the use of more blur around the flower.

There is a lot to like about this image - I like your choice of DOF and you have captured the detail in the flower very well. I would make a few recommendations to improve this though - 1) I think this would be better with more space at the bottom of the frame so that the flower is not cut off, and 2) along the left hand side of the frame I think there appears to be an out of focus leaf that is almost transparent but is obvious enough that it draws my eye.

Yun - Beautiful photo of the Lotus. Cram looks lovely. Lighting is pleasant. I am wondering if we are seeing two blooms which have kind of merged but perhaps not as there is only one stem.
I do not know what compulsions you had in order to compose this way by clipping the petals at the bottom but in spite of that, the frame has a lot of appeal.

Many thanks for everyone's comments. I have some images of the whole flower, but the color wash is not translucent. This picture has the best cram effect except the left side. I did not apply any blur in my treatment and I agree with Morris’s suggestion about more blur around the flower. I am inspired by Nathan and Bill with their beautiful cram works and learned a lot from all of you.
