Eyes

I wasn't sure if this would quite fit this category, but seeing Charlie's "eyes" I figured I'd give it a shot. I like looking for driftwood that has animal or anthropomorphic features. Perhaps this looks more alien than human; it did remind me somewhat of "The Scream".

Thanks for looking

Reminds me very much of "The Scream". The patterns are interesting, but the play of light across the wood are what makes this for me. Good eye and good shot!

I think it fits great. Since we are talking appearances and likeness's it is in each of our minds perseption. Those are like eyes. Great.

Oh, and stand alone, this is a really nice shot artistically too.

Last year I did a whole series of images finding recognizable images in tree trunks and this is certainly one I'd love to have in my collection. Beautiful tones and detail - well done. Conjures up memories of the movie ET.

Like Phil, I love the play of light across this image! It brings out the beauty of the texture in this wood and adds a nice sheen too. The eyes are especially beautiful. I could see a fine image made by cropping up from the bottom to just below the eyes. However, in the complete picture that knobbly nose/mouth combo is a fun addition and does add to the interesting textures. The complete picture also does allow us to see more of the wood tones too.
