Ring Fire Jumpspot

Several members of the Grangeville Smokejumpers, including myself, parachute onto a remote ridge in the Frank Church Wilderness to suppress the Ring Fire. I'm a rookie this year and only have 21 jumps so far, but I'm pretty confident that this is an unusually beautiful jumpspot. We were on the fire for 6 days drinking from a stream and eating freeze dried and canned food, and hiked 7 miles to a trailhead where we were picked up by someone from our base. Interesting action image. The spot looks beautiful and I like the imagel, but this really belongs in man in nature.

That's a tough way to earn a living Thomas. Commanding view of the surroundings from this elevation and a photo I'm sure you will continue to cherish years from now. The OM-D compact camera sure makes a lot more sense in situations like this than a bulky SLR or something even bigger.
