I realize that this may seem like photo art, but it is a capture of gas bubbles that rose from the depths of a Banff National Park lake and are now frozen near the surface. I really did not do much processing here other than some levels adjustments and slight color adjustments.
Wandering around this large lake, "time really does stand still" when you are focusing on the vast universe beneath your feet
I did include a larger file for your viewing pleasure

Peter,
I know what you mean, but the issue here, is that something always has to get cut off! I had to crop this image, because the top left corner was lacking interest, and leaving more of the image on the right side where it was heavily filled with bubbles started to throw the balance off a bit.
It is very interesting looking at the vast surface of the lake for these patches, and them getting lost in them!
Sore knees are a big issue!! I should have brought a pair of "contractors knee pads"
Very well done.

I used the "adaptive wide angle" filter to help work the perspective, and eliminate the unwanted parts of the scene. I used this filter to crop out what I did not want. Like Doug has said, i did not really notice the large bubble on the right being cut out. I guess the black space on the left seemed to balance the image. I did a lot of work cleaning up the scene from tiny air bubbles that IMO were distracting. I was looking to present a abstract fine art piece. I may go back and try it again and see if I can retain a bit more of the image on the right side.
