Mt Evans, CO, Yellow Bellied Marmot. Rain water from previous night formed a small pool in the dished rock. Must have been a drinking spot because the current level is below the water line, and temp was 46 degrees, so I doubt any evaporation yet that AM. I was attracted by the reflection. Should have stopped down a bit further so reflection would be more in focus, even though there is a bit of a ripple. Comments appreciated.

Hi Ralph, I find it interesting to compare this species to the Hoary Marmot we get here in Alberta. Cute pose, looks like he is distracted by something. I don't miss a sharp reflection in the pool, the Marmot is the main subject for sure. I rather wish that the Marmot might be interacting with the water, either drinking it, touching it or looking into it to unite the two entities.

Great relaxed looking pose you captured Ralph. I think the reflection is a nice added touch to this composition. Excellent details too.

You really know how to get close to these mountain animals, as evidenced by your other recent postings. Good details and I like the reflection.

I like the colours in the granite here Ralph. The little pool of water make the habitat even more interesting and the reflections adds and IMO does not need to be in focus.
