Managed to capture one decent meteor Monday morning on Folly Beach SC. Nikon D7000, Tokina 12-24 at 12mm. f/4, ISO 1600, 30 seconds. The fences are lit by distant city lights of Charleston.

Serenity... like a still pond ...yet it is night sky. The cottony clouds add much to this...and your composition with the drift fence and ripples is simple and complimentary. Way to go...

I like this image a lot. Fine composition and the clouds add to the image. This image probably belongs in the Man in Nature gallery because of the fence.

Man in Nature gallery is a better fit, but this is a fine image! The repeating patterns in the fence and sand are very nice, and the meteor and clouds look great.

Kate,

This is a wonderful image! Great job incorporating the "local landscape" ie. the fences which I'm guessing are pretty common on the eastern seaboard; they are very nicely lit. The patterns in the sand, the moving clouds and the night sky all play together beautifully! Getting the meteor is big time icing on the cake. Congrats! :toast:

Ok, already mentioned twice. I'm going to go ahead and move this to the Man & Nature gallery after posting my comment. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for posting!

Kate, This is really nice!! Besides the fantastic sky (meteor and all) I love the sand textures and fence. Very nicely done! :toast:

The inclusion of the sand pickets is very nice. Beautiful.
