Running mouflon WC598

I took this several years ago at the Topeka, KS zoo, when I first became interested in photographing zoo animals. I chose to blur the BG as it was fence and buildings by following the running mouflon at a slow shutter speed. I like the results, but did not record tech info.

Mamiyaflex C-220, 180mm lens, Ektachrome film.

Your camera movement works well to give a real sense that this is a critter on the move! You have captured a look of determination in his face and pose too. The blurred movement is also a great way to disguise some not so desired background elements. I must confess, "mouflon" was a new term for me. I had to look it up, since you tweaked my curiousity.

John - Have to admit, I also had to look up "Mouflon"

I really like the thought to use of this technique to get rid of a distracting background. As much as I've experimented with camera movement many times, I had never thought of using it for that reason.

Your image conveys a strong sense of purpose - the ram appears to have some serious business to take care of :toast:

I love the sheep. He looks ready to deliver the goods. The lighting is interesting and those Ektachrome colors are priceless. I especially like the foreground and that foreleg.
