The Pearl

Ilica Falls is the pearl of Kure Mountains National Park and access to this beauty is quite easy. Flow of the water is generally favorable for photographic purposes in the summer and the fall but it is quite high in the spring and it looks very different. Peaceful waters of the fall flows to the wild groud of Valla Canyon.

I have taken this one in August at the sunset.

Thank you for your comments.

Taken in Kastamonu, Turkey with Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 16-36 Mark II, several shots are blended for exposure.

Nice scene and good color. But the foreground doesn't really grab me.

I agree with Richard about this being and interesting scene and very pretty. But as he mentioned the FG is a problem. At first I thought that large stones were good to have but finally decided it was the big flat ledge in RHC that was the problem.

Serkan,

The soft light is nice. I do agree with the other comments regarding the foreground, so I suggest a crop from the bottom to just above the leaves on the left.

Also, I am seeing a lot of cyan and blue in the rocks and waterfall. I think those colors could be reduced quite a bit. One last note: I see a halo around the pinnacle and the tree on the top left where they meet the sky.

I think that with a little tweaking, this will be a fine image.

Good thoughts above Serkan. Regardless, I'm really enjoying some landscape from Turkey!

I think this is a nice first pass, and I might revisit the scene under slightly different conditions and try some more comps. The sky is a nice add but seems like there isnt much going on up there. Maybe take a lower perspective closer to the water. The processing is pretty nice, but I agree on the halo as a distraction. Keep it up

I like the mood but the colors are too manipulated for my taste. Waterfall looks green/blue and not white.
A great place to revisit and shoot again. :toast:

I think this version is more neutral in terms of color. I also attach a shot of the fall from the base. Thanks for the comments so far.

This is a very pleasant scene. I don't mind the rocks in the foreground, but think you could find other compositions that would work equally well, like using the floating leave for the foreground. I agree with the others that the colors seem a bit oversaturated. The repost looks much more real. The base view is similar to what I was thinking when I mentioned other comps.

The base view grabs me much more. The cliff looks a little blue to me though, possibly a little oversaturated with a cool temp? I like the color in the RP, I think the base view with the RP processing would be great.
