Keefe-esque Poppy

The title explains what I was thinking.

Taken in spring at the Zilker Botanical Garden in Austin.

I liked the bright colors... seemingly made with a brush.

Nikon D800 1/2000s @ f5.6 ISO 400 direct sunlight behind the poppy.

Well done, Sanjay. It does looks Keefe-esque. The backlighting is very effective, and I like the comp. Might be fun to play with this one to get it look a bit more painterly and then repost it in the PA gallery as an alternate PA image.

Yep, a nice tribute to her work. I would only suggest cropping the corners off to really bring the focus entirely on the very fine center.

A strong, vibrant image, Sanjay - very painterly indeed in feeling. The backlighting works well - though I agree about maybe cropping the corners.
