Verdon, Thank you for the comment, will take a look at the noise....I do not do much correction, mostly crop, light, a little sharpness....One reason, not that sharp one the make-up tools? I will take notes and try to work on those areas...Thank you for taking the time to give me feedback, very much appreciated...Can you suggest any tools, filters to help with the noise? (remember simple for the beginner)

A classic pose for this fellow on a very nice uncluttered perch. The BG is pretty nice except I find the dark area in the upper left to be a little distracting, lightening it slightly would help. What tools are you currently using for your post processing? A lot of shooters here are using primarily PS or LR in combination with the plugin tools from NIK. I've been using those tools for almost a year and can't say enough good things about them. By the way welcome to the group and I look forward to seeing more of your photographs. :toast:

John, Thank you for the comments and the effort of assistance, I have been reading about the NIK filters and everyone seems to like them for noise reduction. I also agree about the dark area, one sometimes fails to notice until they put an image out for critical review then the little things you overlooked stare back....Do you feel the NIK is a good solution and easy to use with PS as a plugin? Thanks again for your time!

Bill, I can't speak about their use with Photoshop as currently I'm using the NIK suite with Lightroom. I've had no problem with them and the more practice you get with their tools the more impressive results you can achieve. Good luck!

Great bird captured very nicely in a singing pose. The perch is wonderful also. The noise can easily be taken care of in photo-shop also.

Wonderful shot Bill, what a great perch and the singing pose and comp are excellent. There is a bit of noise as others have noted but not too bad. Did you sharpen the whole image when you resized or just the bird and perch? If you are able to select just the bird and perch (not easy with the perch in this image) and sharpen only them that will reduce noise as opposed to sharpening the whole image. As Ken said you can run noise reduction in ps. Here it would be best to select the bird and perch, invert the selection and run color noise reduction just on the background. Select, filter, noise, reduce noise in ps. :toast:

Really nice pose, bird and perch. You got great advice re: the noise. I also see a little dust bug under the leaf on the right. Easy fixes for a superb image. Sharon
