High Summer

From the height of the summer on a ridge-top meadow. I believe it is a grouse of some sort, but am hoping for clarification.

I think what you've got is a blue grouse, Brad. Resident of higher elevations. Gave you a pretty good look as they can be pretty skittish. I like that it is blending into it's surroundings but still with a good look at the head. Well done.

Peter, thanks. I suspected it might be a blue grouse but was not confident enough to label it as such.
