Here is my other favorite from the Painted Hills excursion, also shot in smokey conditions and therefore a longer, abstract composition.

I like this one as well, Marylynne. Again with the subtle coloration and another nice composition. Two nice images from the wonderful painted hills. Chet

This one conveys the same softness the previous one did, Marylynne. Wonderful colors and composition too. I might crop down slightly to eliminate that very small URHC piece. Otherwise no other ideas here that I can see for possible adjustments. Very nice capture overall.

Shoot. I did some creative cloning to get rid of that corner. My apologies...let me find the right version

Here is the revised version. My apologies...I got the same feedback in the PNWNPN forum, and changed it, but didn't export the new version. So now, feedback on my cloning might be helpful. It's not perfect but I don't think it draws the eye like the wedge of scrub did before.

This is still my favorite. Just outstanding! I love the competing lines and subtle color. :toast:

Marylynne, that's the ticket. The revised version drops that small swatch out of that corner. I see where you mentioned cloning it out, which obviously worked just fine, but small chunks like those in a corner these days I use the Content Aware on. Seems like it does a better job at times and much faster too. Just an idea next time you might give it a try....
