Dog & CAT
by Kent Staubus
Even though summer is my least favorite time of year for photography, I've been busy. Mostly, I've been shooting either an old box camera or a vintage Leica. Starting around the first of August we have weekend threshing bees/vintage tractor shows around here. I've been going to those every weekend for the past two years, and bring an old camera plus a pocket full of b&w film.
This shot came from the Butterfield, MN threshing bee last weekend. I've often heard that pets resemble their owners, and this pudgy little weiner dog and his owner seemed to share the same disposition, and other things. Folks are very friendly at these rural get togethers and they're a great place to do some "people" shots. I used my v.1942 Leica IIIc, v.1951 Canon 28mm f3.5, and FP4 film. Most of the time you don't need fancy camera gear.
