Leopard's leap!
by Ajit Huilgol
This is one of the resident male leopards in the tourist circuit, and is very bold and not at all camera-shy. However, on this day, after being discovered with a full belly on a tree, he decided not to co-operate with photographers, and came down in a hurry.
Location: Kabini, Karnataka, India
Equip: Canon 1D Mlll, Canon 70-200 f2.8 lens at 200mm
Specs: ISO 400, f7.1, 1/320s, beanbag on vehicle
If you stay for 2-3 nights at Kabini, you are almost guaranteed a good leopard sighting!
As always, all critics and critiques welcome!

6 commentsGood handling of dappled (harsh?) light. Is this the same leopard as your BBC awarded image (congrats on inclusion in the 2014 diary
And, Vincent, I don't know why leopards leap down from trees as soon as they see me!
Sweet Photo!!!
