Heron

This shot was taken in Costa Rica 03/12. The bird was less than the height of my knees and was on the shore of Coco Beach. I am not used to seeing such a small heron in Ontario. Photo is pretty much full size and slight adjustments edited with Photoshop.

Any suggestions on the birds id?

John, this is a Tricolored Heron, and the bronze coloring of the primaries indicate juvenile. I get lots of these in my area in southern Louisiana.
