Cicada Portrait

Taken just after she (he) was finished mating. I tend to think this is a female as the other one took off (very noisily) after the deed was done.

Nikon D300; 150 macro; f13@1/160th; ISO 500; HH; cropped by approx. 40% to take out OOF sections.

Fine macro portrait of this cicada, Tom. An excellent comp with a nice low perspective, and you certainly got up close and personal while maintaining excellent detail.

Striking view, Tom, with some great detail. I would say the dof is perfect and the viewpoint allows for a close study of the insect.
