Sunset at Lake Superior

Here is another shot from my trip to Lake Superior. I realize I tend
to keep my images a little dark and was wondering what you think
about the foreground in this shot, is it to dark or does it match
the sunset?

Nikon D7000
ISO 100
f/18 @ 1/5 sec.
15mm

I don't know that it's a matter of this being too dark, but I would recommending dialing back quite a bit on the contrast (and possibly saturation). Compositionally, I like how the shoreline creates a nice diagonal that intersects an abstract diagonal created by the higlights from the sun to the glow in the foreground.

I agree with Brian's observations on this one, Gerald. You might also try to pull more detail out of the darks, but I don't know if that would be possible without creating noise. You might consider a crop from the left that would eliminate some of dark areas.

I agree with Brian's comments especially in the saturation. I like your compand the light on the foreground rocks.
