Great blue with catch. Taken with Canon 7D, using 100-400 IS lens at 275mm, F7.1, 1/500 sec., ISO 400, -1 exposure. Happened so fast I just used the settings on the camera.

Sure was fun to watch him catch this fish. Unfortunately the first four shots he was looking away.

Sorry I've been away for so long. Fell and crushed my wrist so I can no longer hold the heavy camera and lens, use the computer, etc. etc. Just now able to use the smaller cameras and type with two hands. Hopefully, it will heal so I can get out and about with the 7D and 100-400 lens.

Well, that's one wet GBH. A different image than the usual kind of a heron catching a fish. But food is food and looks like he could wade out of the deep water to dry out. Sorry to hear about your accident but glad you can start to return to some of the activities you had to curtail.

That's a nice catch for the heron and you! The image seems a little high in contrast, but I like the colors you caught in the underwing. Sorry to hear of your accident and hope you're on the mend quickly! Sharon

A very nice capture, Patricia. It's certainly the deepest I've seen a Great Blue; up to the neck, as it were. If it were mine, I might back the contrast down just a hair.

Sorry to hear about your wrist. Do your PT and you'll be out lugging the big glass again soon!
