The Light from Above

This image of Scituate Light was made just after dusk on a beautiful summer evening. I tried really hard to find a worthy foreground and was pleased with the proverbial boulder that led to another boulder, which led to the lighthouse. It was a pleasure to hear the ocean waves crashing ashore mixed with the sounds of a very loud cricket hiding in a wild rose bush.

Good combination of cross over lighting here and a nice sky. The cut off boulder in the foreground I'm not sure about.

Greg,

I can't see the ocean in the image, so I can't really imagine hearing it. There are things I like and things I'm not so excited about. I like the motion blur in the flags and clouds. The foreground rock doesn't work for me. It doesn't really lead into the image. The whole image seems a bit out of focus. Even the lighthouse is soft. The house and flag pole in the left are not straight. The building to the right of the light house is very bright and looks kind of ghostly.

Thanks Kah and Brad. Ideally I would have liked to place the rock more to the left, but I had some limitations to where I was able to move and the rock was bigger than I wanted to move:) I am aware of the distortion and tried to fix it in lightroom and PS. I found that I could have a straight light tower or a straight house. I chose the tower. As for sharpness, it is soft in some areas, particularly the foreground rock. I am now hoping for acceptable sharpness, because tack sharp is obviously lacking. I will tone down the building on the right even more than I already have. Thanks for looking and commenting.
