White Cosmos #3

Trying to get some sense of the loose, spreading foliage that often accompanies the cosmos, hence this pano crop.

Canon 7D, Tamron 55-200mm lens @ 171mm, 1/320 sec @ f9, - 0.67ev, ISO 500, hh.

The details in the flower are great, Ian, the whites are perfect and I sure like the foliage and buds. This image feels unbalanced to me, with the centered flower, heavy darkness on the right and bright foliage on the left, but I don't see cropping from either side as helping. Guess I'll just have to keep looking.

Hi Ian :wavey: Your cosmos presentations are a great inspiration to me... this one is no exeption... beautifully composed, with fascinating color and light

Ian: Like your near-pano crop and the comp. Excellent whites and I love hoe you managed the undergrowth. >=))>

The larger image is splendid, Ian. The petals, of a beautiful white, dominate the scene and the bachground is soft enough for not disturbing the subject. Simple and beautiful.
Take care,

Ian - Another lovely and crisp take on the White Cosmos. Love the sharp center (compared to the previous one which was a bit on the softer side) and how the DOF encompasses the whole flower.

Compositionally I am thinking a more of a portrait look (square to 5:4) might suit this better.

Beautifully captured and processed, Ian. Gorgeous white cosmos. I appreciate that you wanted to do something original with the semi-pan comp, and wanted to show the spreading foliage, but, like Ram, I question whether the comp best complements the beautiful cosmos.

Excellent detail, perfect whites, and beautiful colors, Ian! I agree with your choice of a pano crop to show the beautiful foliage.

I like your exposure on the whites, and the comp overall. I think cropping a bit from the left would help.

Great detail and very well exposed. I agree with Ram about the composition but apart from that a lovely capture.
