YCNH Juvenile

I shot this juvenile early this morning in Bayou Sauvage in partially overcast conditions. The bird remained at this spot for at least an hour, mostly posing crouched down with its head turned away. Finally, apparently noticing me, it stood up and I grabbed a few frames before it flew away. About a 70% crop from bottom left to 4x5 aspect of 4/3rds original. Larger image included.

Nice to see this species posted - here in AZ I only get to see black-crowned and I miss them. Nice detail, and I like the body position and head turn.

I'd try to tone down the bottom where there is a lot of glare from the water by the heron's feet.

Very nice shot of this handsome young bird. I agree with Richard that a slight adjustment to the brightness of the lower quarter might help. My only nit is that I found myself wishing for more room for the virtual feet.
