Vincent, you've captured the focus of a lioness superbly here, and back/side lighting is so powerful when done well. You have just the right amount of light in just the right places...golden and sweet! Great composition too.

I had to view the larger view to appreciate the beauty of this one Vincent. Subtle and quiet, love the contemplative expression. Wonderful light touching all the right places as Jim mentioned. :toast: :toast:

I love this one Vincent, especially the catch light in her eye and intensity of her pose.

Loving the light and POV here, Vincent! Where in KTP? Looks like northwards up the Nossob riverbed? Or were you on the Mabuasehube side?

I see this as a vertical well suited with enough negative space for print, perhaps magazine cover.

Like Gary I had to look at the larger version to really appreciate this.
The light is stunning and touches all the right places.
Perspective is great as you feel you are sharing the view with her. :toast:

Morkel, this was made near Polentswa.
Lon, thanks for the suggestion; I never figured this could work as a vertical on the cover of a mag, only as a double spread...

Beautiful light on the foreground grass and on the lioness Vincent. You captured a great moment and made the best of it. Good with the low POV (almost) separating her head from the background.

One of my favourite paintings is Simon Combes's "Tension at dawn" featuring two lionesses in low light, just about to go off on a hunt. Although very different, you have managed to capture the same atmosphere here. Great work, beautifully composed.
