In No Hurry

Another photo from Pt. Reyes, CA. After the first round of photos, we crossed over a fence to try and get a bit closer without bothering them. Well, as soon as we got over, the big guy stood up and looked straight at us. But that was about it. Eventually, the other got up and they started moving to the left and towards the ridge line. In the process, a couple of other smaller bulls appeared from the other side. It appeared that while they had some concern about humans entering their territory, it took nearly an hour for them to stroll up and over the ridge. Not too harried, I'd say. This is a cropped image (40% left and as far as I can go without significant issues). I warmed this up some and added half a stop of exposure to get at what looked right to me. Comments and critiques are welcomed and appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Nice environmental shot. I might be tempted to crop the image a little to put more emphasis on the elk. I was there last fall and got a couple nice images of the Tule Elk in during the rut. Maybe a little more contrast to give it a bit more punch.

He's moving right along that ridge with purpose for you Peter. I might crop out the dark vegetation peeking into the frame at the bottom and maybe add some sky back to the top for a minimalist look. I think you could brighten this up a little, but I sometimes get the feeling I like my photos a bit brighter than other members here, perhaps a monitor issue?

I think you made the best composition choice for the situation. It sure would have been nice to have some added weather detail rather than the all blue sky. Those are the kinds of uncontrollable items that keep us going back for more!
