Moonlight & T-storm

After pounding us with rain, howling winds and a some 1/4 inch hail, this thunderstorm moved up Montana's Paradise Valley with it's top and side lit by the almost full moon. With some long exposures, I was able to get the storm lit internally by it's own lightning. The moonlight on the foreground was so bright that I had to burn it in in PS for a "realistic" look. Stunning image Mark. Fantastic that you also captured the stars above the storm. I don't think I have ever seen an image like this.

Amazing capture, Mark! Interesting to see the large cloud system backed up by the clear night sky with stars. The lighting is wonderful too, using the lightning from the storm to illuminate the picture. . .I like the backlighting it gives to the storm system. Very cool!

wow, this looks very surreal! Such an amazing combination of different (mostly unusual) light sources.

This is very cool Mark, the LP looks great. Excellent look at this 'internally lit' thunderstorm!
It's an exciting comp for me, with its layers of landscape, thunder clouds, and stars up top..
I wonder, how long after/before sunset/sunrise was this made?
Well done :toast: :toast:
