First Bell

My first trip to Maroon Bells. I know this location has been shot many times, probably with better timing, but on a rainy morning this week I found it to be a wonderful experience. Some places are just like that I guess. I had one narrow window to make the trip that was about a week or two early for peak fall color. Just three of us with tripods set up in the rain that morning. I'm told in another week or two the three will become three hundred. Maybe the wrong day can still be a good time after all.

Looks good to me, as well. The color of the water is quite different from what one would normally expect--that's good.

I like this image alot. It seems to be a different take on an iconic place. The midground colors are very inviting and the clearing clouds seem to be on the move giving an energy to the sky. Well done. Chet

Great light on the peaks and love those stormy clouds. A refreshing, different take on these peaks. Really like the mix of greens and yellows in the trees. Enduring the rain really paid off.
