Baby Snowy Owl

Another shot of the Snowy Owl sitting on a rock, taken at the Canadian Raptor Conservancy 07/24/13. This shot was edited and cropped with Adobe Photoshop and Bridge. I was experimenting with Micro 4/3 to see what type of quality I can get on a shot. Overall it's a nice camera to have with the lenses when going on vacations.

As in your previous post John, this one has a very nice quality of light and is technically very good as well. Your exposure got the whites without blowing them out, it's a sharp image (maybe a touch soft on the beak, but that's minor) with good DOF. However, the pose/composition doesn't work so much for me - just my preference. I think I would have preferred either a bit more of a straight-on look, or maybe a wider shot which included the feet (like your other post).

That is one intense stare! The sharpness is outstanding and I like the tight focus on the bird's face. I would try cropping some of the empty space on the left, but I'm not convinced that it would be an improvement.

Hi John,

The light gives the owlet's eyes a nice glow. The image quality of the Panasonic looks fine. It would be nice to see the bird's feet as well. Nice image overall.
