Rose Garden Favorite

Was at my favorite rose garden and spotted this rose's unusual coloring. It has become my new favorite rose. Taken with Canon 7D, using 100-400 IS lens. A soft vignette has been applied.

Patricia, this is a very beautiful rose image. Fabulous red color against an equally lovely soft green bg. You might consider centering the rose by cropping the left side. Because the rose is leaning or "looking" right, I think there should be less or at least equal space "behind" it as compared to in front of the rose, but it is gorgeous just as presented.

Nice rose and evenly lit to show it off. I might have done what Scott suggested ...crop left side... and vignette corners too... in any case this is superb, as is. Ken S

Patricia, I like the split complementary colors in both the rose and BG. As far as the soft vignette, I wish it had excluded the leaves immediately around the rose. I also agree with Scott's cropping suggestion.

Patricia - Some nice suggestions on composition already. I really like the color and petal curls on a pretty nice green background. Would make for a nice card I think

The vignette works beautifully here, Patricia, allowing the lines of the petal edges to stand out nicely. Lovely light and colour. Just wonder whether the greater space might have been on the R rather than the L, but very accomplished as is.
