Isolated this back-lit ginger leaf against a dark background. Taken in my backyard. This ginger has beautiful variegated leaves and makes for some interesting abstracts. I will post a few more of those.

Nikon D800 1/640 sec at f/10. In direct sun. Handheld.

Cropped the standard 2x3 format to a 9x16 to emphasize the shape and make a stronger composition. Curious if you think it is a bit too close to the edges.

Sanjay - Good decision on the crop. Love the lighting and the diagonal leading line. The dark background works in your favour here as it highlights your subject immensely.

A dynamic comp with the diagonal line, and the stark background brings the leaf forward to the viewer. Very well done. I like the very graphic nature it has.

Most striking image, Sanjay ! The high contrast lighting gives this a very graphic feel, which I like a lot. The black ground and framing work extremely well in highlighting the colours of the leaf. Beautiful !!!
