This is from the same original file as the one I posted a couple of days ago (HERE)

Only this time, I thought I would accentuate the fog, instead of trying to remove its influence. This treatment was developed through NIK Color Efex. Sure ended up quite different!

ISO 800, 1/200 sec at f/5.6, +1/3EV, 70-300mm lens at 277mm.

Interesting pairing, Karen. In this version, I find the very subtle colors in the rocks an interesting addition to an overall b&w scheme. I do find the difference in fog between the right 1/3rd (heavy) and left 2/3rds (medium) distracting but I think that could be fixed with some burning in on the right. In looking at both of these, it seems to me that you've got enough detail in the bear's face so that a bit of dodging would let it show nicely while keeping the darkness appropriate for it being in shadow. What a great sighting.

Thanks for the comment Mark. I had made the fog different strengths intentionally - was trying to make it feel as if the bear was walking out of the fog bank towards the viewer. I tried again, removing the fog from the LRC and evening the BG slightly.
