This stork posed rather nicely for us when on a boat trip on the Chobe River, Botswana. I decided against removing the Darter in the BG, do you agree?

An interesting bird, and a nice profile view of it.

The darter is a bit of a distraction, but removing it would make this into Photo Art IMO so I'd leave it. If you have enough pixels you could make this a vertical to eliminate the darter.

There's a strong halo around the darter and the stork against the blue water that is likely the result of shadow/highlight or some other step to bring up the exposure on the dark plumage.

A good look at an interesting bird Ken. My first impression was to crop this to a vertical and lose the Darter in the BG. I do see the halo around the head of the stork - this should be easily fixed.

Interesting species - the darter gives some sense of depth, so to me the image is fine as posted ! Cheers, Hans

I like the subtle colors in the stork. I agree about the vertical crop if you can! Sharon

I really like the light here, and the colors of the stork. I also agree with trying a more vertical crop if that's a possibility.
