Howdy. I am new to this site, and this is my first post. This is a recent mule deer image. Your feedback is most appreciated.

Hi Jack, welcome to the NPN Wildlife Gallery. I'm not an expert in evaluating trophy deer but this guy looks pretty nice. Those antlers are nicely polished up too. You waited for a great head turn that shows both eyes and displays the antlers well. Some of the shadows could be lightened a little in post processing. Inclusion of some information on the equipment and settings used to make the photo is encouraged. Don't be shy to comment on the work of others, we all benefit from that.

Welcome to NPN Jack. A very nice Mule Deer Buck. I like the bit of grass or foliage on the antler, the overall sharpness, the head turn, and they eye. IMO Mule Deer have unique eyes and you captured the color well. Some equipment info would be nice to have too, as Gary said.

Welcome Jack to NPN. Very nice mule deer photo. I also feel the shadows could be lightened a bit. I like the composition of the photograph. Also, would like to see the tech info as it does help when making comments. Thanks for sharing.

Ditto to Gary's remarks. I think you did a fine job selecting aperture for depth of field control, keeping the antlers and ears within a good zone of focus. Welcome to the wildlife gallery. We look forward to more postings and your comments on the postings of others!
