Wild Rhesus Monkey found feeding on the river bank in the Ocala National Forest, Florida. Full frame, hand held from boat, NR applied to help with the high ISO. Back light from afternoon sun, I wish the subject could have been on the other side of the river.

I like the back lighting on this. The BG is OK, but could use a little more blur. Is that a cypress knee the monkey is holding on to? Strange looking color.

The backlighting and centered position of the monkey in the frame is quite a different take for a portrait, I like it. A bit less contrast might help the background and tone down some of the harshness I see.

The look on the face of the monkey makes the image for me. Nice lighting also.

I think you handled difficult light quite well. I would make a minor processing tweak, to reduce the amount of sharpening on the hairs that overlap his eyes, to make them appear less "crispy".
