Bull Moose and Calf

A different Bull Shiras Moose than my previous post. This bull was courting the calf's mother. On occasion this female calf would come close and sniff the bull. This is a major crop, probably to 30-40% of original, but I thought it held up well with just a bit of sharpening halo at bull's nose. Comments always appreciated.

Love, Love this shot!! The moose are a bit different than here in the east. But he is spectacular! And the tender "moment" between the two is nice. I like your crop (although I wouldn't mind it if it was backed off a tad) and the simple BG. I hope you post MORE!!!

Commendable that you were able to capture this interesting natural behavioural interaction in your presence. Very cool to see the generation gap being bridged. Love the colors in their coats and hint of warm light. Great habitat as well Ralph. Looks great, especially for a large crop like this!

Very cool pose, I like the comp a lot! The bg blur looks a bit funky to me. almost embossed looking--dont know if its due to processing or DOF.

Great capture of moose behavior, especially under the crop you describe. Nice detail and light on the antlers.
