Simple portrait of a fall rose.
Nikon D800 1/4 sec at f/8 ISO 400 on a cloudy day.
Thanks for taking the time to look and comment.

Gorgeous image. Great color, excellent dark background to make it pop, good detail, and water droplets to top it off. Well done!

Sanjay, an excellent shot. At the risk of pigeon-holing myself, this is an excellent subject for a focus stack. I do like it as is, though, as the sharp focus on the water drops is complete and is the meat of the photo, IMO.

Thanks Phil! I did think of your excellent stacking technique more than once as I was trying to get most of this rose in sharp focus. I think the leading edge of the petals could have been rendered perfectly sharp with a stack. But, I don't know how and I don't have PS, which I think is a pre-requisite.
Appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks,
Sanjay

Sanjay - Very pretty - Dew adds a lot more interest. Frame might look better with a 1 pixel white border inside the black thick one.
A touch more DOF might have brought frontal petal edges also into proper sharpness but if softness was what you were after, I'd say you succeeded.

Excellent, simple composition, Sanjay, with a delightful rendering of the petals and droplets. Can't justify the point except as a personal taste but I would have liked maybe to see some gradient in the bg - it is, though, lovely as is.

Pure delight to view. The dew produced this time of year is a definite plus.
