Thanks to the prolonged fall without a frost, the dahlias at the local public garden are still going strong. Fellows Riverside Gardens, Youngstown, Oh., taken in natural overcast light with D600, 150 macro, at 1/500, f3.8, iso 400. Comments, questions, and suggestions welcome.

Scott, this is just beautiful. I love the light, the colors, the textures, the sharpness and softness. Exquisite.

Don't really think it gets any better Scott. Rich complementary colors, sweet light and a bg gradient. No suggestions on my part.

Just gorgeous colouring, Scott, on a lovely bg. A very sensuous image, with nice soft treatment of the flower stem.

Scott - Just superb. The word electric comes to mind. That is a wonderful shade of Red.

Jealous of your frost free fall Scott. We had our dahlias taken extra early this year - they have been gone for almost two weeks (except for one bloom that survived by hiding in a window well!) Very nicely done here. I am impressed that you found a nice rich bloom without a lot of pollen on it. Very nice.

For me, this one is all about the colors. They're stunning...so bold and vibrant. Very nice.

Brilliant work, Scott! Wonderful combination of sharpness and softness, red and green. I also like the understated presentation: a green frame with a small signature in red.

This is spectacular, Scott! Beautiful flower and excellent capture. The shiny center and excellent red color are stunning against the clean background. An amazing image with a wonderful feel overall. Very well done!
