Golden Glow

Took a trip to Leavenworth a week ago to see the foliage and get some apples. The fall foliage on Rte. 2 is often brilliant this time of the year. Due to the dry summer and recent heavy rain and wind we've had though, the foliage was sub par overall.

There were a few good spots though, such as this one along a creek I spotted off of the road. I was attracted to the brassy golden reflection in the still creek. It was a beautiful sight!

Very nice scene Joe with beautiful colors and a very colorful reflection. I can see cropping a lot of the back round green out to focus my eyes down the stream. But very well done as is. Very nice.

The reflection really makes this one. :toast: Ron

Great light and the color picked up in the water is fantastic, Joe. I agree with Bill's crop suggestion and I could also see a crop of the tree on the right. I think that would focus the attention entirely on the great light and color in the image. Either way this is nicely done.

Joe,
Great scene you captured, the colors and refection are very nice. I like the BG hillside of Evergreens and think they add a nice contrast to the Hardwoods along the creek. A lower POV of this scene, from water level, would also be interesting to see.
Well done . . . :toast:

Thanks guys. I've thought about those crops as well. I actually have a vertical shot that centers on the reflection. Here it is.

The second version works well Joe but, the original version gets my vote.

What a nice autumn scene this is , Joe. Great color and that reflection makes this so inviting. Now I just want to drift down through there in my canoe. The vert is very nice too but I do enjoy the first one even more.

The reflection and the view down the stream are excellent. More depth in the horizontal, but that vertical is especially nice for the emphasis on the reflection. Both work very well.

This has a lovely inviting glow pulling me into the distance. The vertical shot shows off the colors better, but for me, it misses the depth that the original post offers. Both are fine shots, just very different.

The original is best--it's gorgeous! Just back off the sharpening of the leaves a bit, use selective sharpening techniques--and this will be awesome. :toast:

Yeah, I probably oversharpened a bit Stan, overcompensating for having to downsize the file to fit on here. Here's a selectively desharpened version... :wavey:

As noted on FB, I really like this one Joe. One of your best IMHO. :toast:

I prefer the original to the crop, and I think the original sharpening is good except for the upper right; that's better in the new version.
