The Ginkgo is one of my favorite trees, especially in fall.
This was taken last year.

Nikon D200 f6.3 @ 1/750 sec

Thanks for looking. Your comments are appreciated.

I'm not too familiar with the Ginkgo tree type here Sanjay, but I like the shape and color of this subject leaf. The back-lighting also adds to the colorful display too. In the perfect shot I would think the small shadow from the other stem showing through might be worth an attempt at a possible cloning there. Just a thought for another look. Regardless, nicely seen and captured subject for this weeks WC theme.

Great portrait of this interesting leaf, Sanjay. The backlighting really gives a nice glow to this warm shade of yellow and the background shows off this leaf so well--a very beautiful color combination! I this close-up view but it may have been helpful to have backed up a bit to show the leaf attached to the stem to make a more harmonious comp. Paul also has a good point about getting rid of the stem shadow on the right. Just some suggestions. . .but this works great as is too.

Ginko's do turn a lovely yellow in the fall and they have an interesting shape. Your shot does justice to both of those characteristics. I would have plucked that lower leaf so that this image focused entirely on the single leaf and the angled branch or looked for a single leaf so I didn't have to "adjust the site".

Very nice Sanjay! Beautiful backlit color and the background works so nice here. I think I'm with Mark on the back leaf.
