Horton Creek Trail

I had the chance to get out of Phoenix and take a drive up to the Tonto National Forest along the Mogollon Rim to scope out the fall color activity. It looks a little spotty as yet but there were some good areas. This was shot along the Horton Creek Trail.

This is a lovely image, Bob. A peaceful composition with some wonderful colors. The dappled light coming through the tree and hitting the FG rocks is really nice. Well seen. Then you got all of those wild colors in the BG. Lots for the eye to take in and feed to the brain.

Really like the color and light, the dark trunks stand out nicely against the bright bg. Beautifully seen and presented.

Beautiful! This could easily have strayed into 'too' busy; instead, the rocks and simplicity of the foreground gives breathing room to enjoy and take it all in. Well done!

The light areas on the rocks and plant pull me deeper into the forest. Very nice intimate shot. The leaning treees add a lot for me, a bit more dynamic than all vertical trunks.

A beautiful scene, Bob. Very nice light along with some wonderful autumn colors make this so inviting. I also like your comp with the foreground rocks and grass which I think works really well here.

Very nice fall colors Bob. I like the mix of green, yellow and red. Using the foreground rocks to anchor the scene was an excellent choice.
