Glen Etive

For me Glen Etive, in Scotland is one of the most beautiful places in the UK, especially in autumn. I have visited this glen many times trying to do it some justice. Each time I go down there I see something different. I feel I am getting there slowly but I would appreciate your feedback.

I took this shot last Tuesday. It was raining when I took this but at least it was raining down and not sideways which often happens.

Thanks for any comments or critique.

Gary.

Gary, this is a great scene. I like the comp but the foreground feels a little messy. I would love to see this place with light breaking through the clouds (granted, we all wish for that most places), but you've still captured a beautifully subdued mood here.

Nice comp, I really like the conifers which seem to anchor and reference the distances and colors. An even larger view would probably suit the details in the foreground. Well done.

The colors here are wonderful with lots of subtle distinctions. Your comp. also works well to create a strong sense of depth. I wonder about a comp. with less of the foreground ferns in the left and right corners.

Gary, there is a subtle beauty to this scene for me, that I really admire. I especially enjoy the natural autumn colors as well as the delicate textures.

The muted fall colors work beautifully with the quiet reflective mood this image projects for me, Gary. I can see why this place is special to you as the photo opportunities look endless. At first I wasn't sure about the break in the FG ferns, but after further viewing I think it is needed to direct the viewer into the lovely scene toward the evergreen situated in the middle of the frame.
